Vima Studio is a brand created to offer high-quality, contemporary garments designed to flatter the real woman’s body. We aim to be a slow fashion alternative within the world of sportswear—without compromising on style or elegance.
Our mission is simple: to create pieces that not only support your performance, but also give you confidence, comfort, and a sense of security in your everyday life. Each collection is thoughtfully designed with both production processes and the (ideally) intensive use our garments will experience in mind. Because what we truly want is for you to live in them, wear them again and again, and enjoy them for a long time.
What drives us
We aim to be a brand that drives positive change in the fashion industry by respecting the environment and promoting transparency in production processes. We focus on the quality of fabrics and finishes to create highly durable garments, because we believe that producing less—but producing better—will always be more sustainable than creating pieces meant to be worn only a few times.
Materiales de calidad
Creemos que la moda se ha vuelto demasiado rápida. Todo es inmediato, todo es “nuevo” y, muchas veces, la calidad queda en segundo plano. Además, estamos rodeadas de etiquetas verdes y palabras bonitas: que algo diga “reciclado” no lo convierte automáticamente en sostenible. El greenwashing también forma parte del problema.
Para nosotras, la opción más sostenible casi siempre es la más simple: usar lo que ya tienes y alargar la vida de cada prenda.
Al empezar, estábamos empeñadas en trabajar solo con tejidos reciclados. Probamos muchos, pero no alcanzaban la calidad y durabilidad que buscábamos. Así que tomamos una decisión difícil: renunciar a ese etiquetado si eso significaba crear prendas que realmente puedas usar durante años.
Todos nuestros tejidos se producen en la Unión Europea, bajo regulaciones estrictas en materia de condiciones laborales, y cuentan con certificados que garantizan procesos libres de químicos dañinos.
No es perfecto. Pero es honesto. Y es nuestro compromiso de hacerlo cada vez mejor. (Seguimos sin renunciar al material reciclado)
Local production
Choosing the workshops we work with was another big challenge. Most of them require large-scale production (very large), and not all have the machinery our fabrics require.
There was one thing we weren’t willing to compromise on: local production. That significantly reduced our options, but for us, it was non-negotiable. We were also clear that we wouldn’t work with workshops that had complaints about bad practices or unpaid wages. If we wanted to do things differently, it had to be reflected from the very beginning.
Today, our garments are cut and made in workshops in Barcelona, where we live. And yes, we design and create our own patterns.
It’s not the easiest path, but it’s the one that lets us sleep peacefully at night.
Design
Design was (and still is) at the heart of everything. We create each garment with our own needs in mind when exercising: flattering yet functional pieces that make us look and feel good, and that truly move with us.
We also wanted something more practical: clothing we could wear all day. Leaving home already dressed, going to train, working, running errands… without having to carry an extra outfit in our bag. Feeling comfortable, but also put-together.
Each of us practices different sports, has a different body, and very different routines. That’s exactly why we wanted designs that would adapt to both of us (and our friends too). Versatile pieces that work in real life.
We test every model extensively. We adjust lengths, straps, waistbands, compression—everything—until we achieve the effect we’re looking for. And of course, we adapt each design to the real capabilities of our workshops, because designing also means understanding how and where a garment will be made.
Nothing is left to chance. Everything is designed to move with you.
We created Vima Studio because we felt disillusioned with the practices of the fashion industry, which—despite everything—remains our greatest passion. We realized we couldn’t just sit back and wait for someone else to do things differently. So we decided to do it ourselves.
We brought together our love for fashion and our passion for sports (which, for both of us, is almost a form of therapy), and the rest is history…
It’s been an intense journey, full of doubts, lessons, and more than a few reality checks. With every obstacle, we better understand why the industry is the way it is—but we also reaffirm that yes, it can be different.
We’re not perfect, and neither is our brand. But we truly care about doing better every day—with more awareness, more honesty, and more heart.
